The blog examines author’s films as an experimental field of artistic expression in drawn animation. It gives an insight into how artists establish their individual strategies of sequential drawing as a vital practice of contemporary moving-image-making.
Aline Helmcke is an artist and filmmaker with a focus on drawing, animation and collage. She is holding a fine art degree from the Universität der Künste Berlin as well as a Master’s degree in Animation from the Royal College of Art, London. This research blog is part of her practice-based PhD at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.
